Organisation roles — what each one can do

What Super Admin, Org Admin and Estimator can do, and why a button might be missing.

Pick the role that matches the person's job. Putting everyone on Org Admin works, but then every estimator can also change the price book, invite staff, and delete jobs.

Your role is per organisation. Being an Estimator in one organisation does not change your role in another.

How to pick a role

People who upload plans, measure and price jobs → Estimator
People who invite staff and look after rates and settings → Org Admin
The person who signed the company up stays Super Admin

The roles

Estimator — the people doing the jobs. They can upload plans, measure, price a job, and export. An Estimator can generate and send quotes. An Estimator cannot invite members, change organisation settings, or change vault prices.

Org Admin — the people who run the office in the app. Everything an Estimator can do, plus members, settings, and the vault. Org Admin can invite members and change organisation settings. They can also assign jobs and delete jobs.

Super Admin is the owner account — the person who signed the organisation up. Super Admin and Org Admin can do the same work in the app. You cannot invite a Super Admin.

Site Admin — the same day-to-day work as Org Admin, for their site only.

Approver — can open jobs, review pricing, and generate quotes. Cannot upload plans or start jobs.

You can see your role next to the organisation name in the top bar. Select the organisation name to open the list, which shows each membership as Organisation (Role).

What to watch for

An Estimator can send a quote. There is no separate "manager must send" lock.
Super Admin is not a higher-powered Admin. It is the owner seat.
Only one Super Admin per organisation.

Why you are seeing a blocked message

The app hides a control when your role cannot use it. You will either not see the button, or see a message such as:

Cannot create jobs here — Your role in this organisation cannot upload plans or start jobs. This appears on the upload screen for roles that cannot start jobs — the Approver role is the common case. Starting jobs needs Estimator, Site Admin, Org Admin or Super Admin.
A vault or template write refused — Site Admin, Org Admin or Super Admin can change the vault and templates. An Estimator can read vault prices but not change them.
Organisation settings refused — Site Admin, Org Admin or Super Admin.
The Members card missing — Site Admin, Org Admin or Super Admin.

This is the app working as configured — it is not a fault.

Fix it: switch organisation

If you belong to another organisation where your role can do the task:

Select the organisation name in the top bar.
Choose the other organisation from the list — each entry shows your role there.
Return to the screen you were on and try again.

Success: the blocked message is gone and the controls appear.

Fix it: ask an administrator

If you do not have another organisation, an Org Admin, Site Admin or Super Admin in your current organisation can change your role:

They open Account and select the Profile tab.
Under Members, they open the role dropdown on your row and choose the new role — Estimator is enough to upload plans and start jobs.
If the blocked message is still showing afterwards, sign out and back in to pick up the new role.

Success: the upload screen no longer shows Cannot create jobs here.

Only an administrator can change roles — you cannot change your own. If you do not know who your administrator is, ask the person who invited you.
